Point 1 is literally the only reason I brought it up here; I've only ever seen it discussed at all, as rare as it is, in JHP. Someone either had to have read about it, or been the person who speculated about it to begin with, to include it in this item.
As for Point 3, I mean, in the era when John was practically canonized, Paul was kind of regarded as the lame one. John got way more brownie points with the American rock press than Paul throughout the Seventies as well, and some of the effects of that still lingers in the public consciousness. I don't think he's the lame one at all, but I can see why someone writing the blind item would go with calling him the lame one.
